American Financial Resources strives to make the approval process as simple and fast as possible.  

With the recent lifting of FHA origination restrictions, AFR is now accepting applications from Non-approved FHA brokers.

As an approved lending partner, you will be set up and assigned one of the following categories:  WS– Wholesale Lending, TPO – Third Party Origination, TF – Table Funded, C – Correspondent, and/or CDE – Correspondent, Direct Endorsement.

Wholesale Lending:  Brokers/Lenders approved thru our Wholesale division must be licensed as a Broker or Lender the state the loan will be originated in or an FDIC Bank and approved as a “Mini Eagle” with FHA.

Third Party Origination:  Brokers/Lenders approved thru our Wholesale division must be licensed as a Broker or Lender in the state the loan will be originated in or an FDIC Bank. The broker does not have to be approved by FHA.

Table Fund: Lenders approved thru our Wholesale division must be licensed as a Lender in the state the loan will be originated in or an FDIC Bank and approved as a Correspondent (Mini-Eagle) or a Mortgagee (Full Eagle) with FHA. The loans will close in the lender’s name using AFR’s funds.

Correspondent:  Lenders approved to fund loans with AFR’s Correspondent Lending Division using AFR Underwriting must be licensed as a lender in the state the loan is originated in or an FDIC Bank and can be a Correspondent (Mini-Eagle) with FHA or a Mortgagee (Full Eagle).  The lender must have a warehouse or funding ability to close and fund loans to be sold to AFR.

Correspondent w/Direct Endorsement Underwriting Authority:  Lenders approved to fund loans with AFR Correspondent Lending Division must be licensed as a lender in the state the loan is originated in.  The Lender must have warehouse or funding ability to close and fund loans to be sold to AFR.

Upon receipt of your application, someone from our Wholesale Lending Department will be in contact with you. The approval process typically takes 1-3 weeks.
